Reconciled!
The conclusion of our brief series in 2 Corinthians brings us to the beautiful exchange and reconciliation which comes from God. God, in Christ Jesus, restores the relationship between Himself and His fallen people by crushing His own Son for our sins, and giving is the righteousness of Jesus. This is the message God has entrusted to us to carry to the ends of the earth.

    In Christ
Christians being “In Christ” is stated as being factual of every single believer, but what does this imply? It speaks about our relationship with Jesus, that we receive all the benefits and blessings that He has earned. Because of this relationship, we no longer live with the guilt of sin, are free from the punishment of sin, and freed even from the practice of sin.

    Key Takeaways
    • Being in Christ demonstrates the depth of His love, amazing grace, and transforming power
    • Being in Christ is seen in our faithfulness, fruitfulness, and fervor

    Straight To The Heart
As Christians, we must constantly be asking ourselves how we view people. Because of our love for Christ and obedience to Him, we no longer look at people in worldly, surface level categories, but we give everyone the respect they deserve as image bearers of God. And it is in this respect and love that we are compelled to preach the full gospel to all people.
    Takeaways:
    • If you embrace this, it will transform the way you view and interact with all kinds of people
    • Don’t let who they are stop you from giving them what they so desperately need
    • Honestly . . . how do you view people?

    • Expect a lot of push-back
    • It is Jesus’ love that motivates and moves us to be faithful

    Aim High
This life is a challenge for Christians; we face tremendous opposition as light in a dark world, but we also have a wonderful hope and guarantee: God has purposed all of our suffering in order to prepare us for the fullness of life, found in Christ. So our aim in this life is to please God by walking by faith in God’s Word, and by living courageously because of this hope.

    It’s Worth It
Preaching the true gospel will be met with negative response, and we are called to pay the price of preaching boldly. However, Paul reassured the Christian that anything we endure in this life is dwarfed by the reward promised to God’s people. It is worth it to live faithfully.

    Jars of Clay (Pt. 2)
We, fallen and redeemed sinners, have been given to incredible privilege to preach the message of life, and we must do so. We are called to humble living, and a life of suffering or even death in order that others may live by the gospel. And God has promised ultimate victory in this mission.

    Jars of Clay (Pt. 1)
As faithful Christians, we must not put up with anything that is false or deceitful, but rather, we owe the world a bold, faithful, and full proclamation of the gospel, which God has prepared us for.

    Law and Gospel
In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul makes a distinction between the Old Covenant and New Covenant, between the law and gospel. What is made clear is that the law cannot save anybody and was never intended to save anybody. All the law can do is point to our failure to keep it and earn is condemnation; it’s only because Jesus kept the whole law and was punished in our place that we can be made right before God. The law and the gospel are both necessary for our salvation.

    Letters of Redemption
Authentic, Christ-centered ministry is epitomized in Paul’s work - and yet, he was still slandered and doubted. Paul pursues the Christians in Corinth, not by boasting of himself, but by appealing to their own lives. The transformation by the Holy Spirit in these individuals validated Paul’s ministry - and so it is for all ministers of God’s Word.
